FAQ

Electronics compliance questions

Does a power bank listing need an FCC ID?

Only if the device needs FCC certification. Power banks with wireless charging or Bluetooth are certified and carry an FCC ID; a plain power bank usually uses a Supplier’s Declaration of Conformity, which has no FCC ID. Either way, the listing must not show an FCC ID that doesn’t exist.

What does Amazon need for lithium battery hazmat review?

A safety data sheet and a UN 38.3 test summary, plus battery details such as watt-hours and chemistry that match the label.

What is the FCC Covered List?

A list of equipment and services the FCC has found to pose a national-security risk. Since 2022 the FCC won’t authorize new equipment from listed companies such as Huawei, ZTE, Hikvision, Dahua and Hytera.

Do e-bikes need UL 2849?

Expect to. UL 2849 is the safety standard for e-bike electrical systems, and several states and retailers now require it. Verid8 flags an e-bike listing with no certificate on file.

Why is my mAh claim flagged?

Because it is physically implausible for the product, or it disagrees with the watt-hour rating on the label. Verid8 checks capacity against the battery marking.

Does Verid8 check FCC IDs live?

Yes. Each FCC ID on the listing or in your images is checked against the FCC’s equipment authorization records.
