FAQ

Toys & Baby compliance questions

Does Amazon require a CPC for toys?

Amazon typically asks for a Children’s Product Certificate and test reports from a CPSC-accepted lab for toys for children 12 and under. Federal law requires the CPC either way.

Which toy listings need a choking-hazard warning?

Toys with small parts for children 3 to 6, and products with balloons, small balls or marbles, need the warning in the online listing itself, not only on the package (16 CFR 1500.19).

What is Reese’s Law?

A 2022 law, implemented in 16 CFR 1263, requiring secure battery compartments, testing and warnings on products with button or coin cells.

Can I sell an inclined sleeper or crib bumper on Amazon?

No. The Safe Sleep for Babies Act of 2022 banned both in the US.

Can I say my toy is “CPSC approved”?

No. CPSC doesn’t approve products. Say what is true: tested to ASTM F963 by a CPSC-accepted lab, with a CPC.

Does Verid8 check the age grade?

Yes. It compares the age on the listing with the product type and its warnings, and flags a mismatch.
