Supplements compliance questions
Why was my Amazon supplement listing suppressed?
Usually because a claim, an ingredient or a missing label image breaks Amazon’s dietary supplement policy. Disease claims, a Supplement Facts image that disagrees with the listing, and missing TIC verification are the usual causes. Verid8 checks all three.
Can a supplement listing say it treats a disease?
No. Under DSHEA a supplement may make structure/function claims, such as “supports joint comfort”, but not claims to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent a disease (21 CFR 101.93(g)). That includes implied claims in names and images.
Do I need the DSHEA disclaimer on Amazon?
Yes, wherever a structure/function claim appears. The disclaimer must say the statement hasn’t been evaluated by FDA and the product isn’t intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease.
What does Amazon’s TIC verification involve?
An approved Testing, Inspection and Certification organization tests or certifies the product, and Amazon checks that the product matches its label. Verid8 tracks the certificate and its expiry.
Does Verid8 read my Supplement Facts image?
Yes. It reads the panel from your gallery images and compares amounts, serving size and ingredients with the title, bullets and description.
Does Verid8 change my listing?
No. Verid8 never connects to Seller Central. You get the finding and a rewrite, and you apply it yourself.
